President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu commenced a two-day trip to some islands of Alif Dhaal atoll on Saturday afternoon.
The President's Office stated that the president’s trip includes visits to Dhangethi, Mahibadhoo, and Omadhoo in Alif Dhaal atoll. The President’s Office went on to highlight that during the trip, meetings are scheduled with the councils and Women's Development Committees (WDC) of most islands in Alif Dhaal atoll.
As part of the president's ongoing series of visits to all atolls in the Maldives and meetings with local councils of atolls, islands, and cities, he will assess the conditions of the residents, understand their most pressing needs, and discuss how to prioritize development projects.
The President's Office also revealed that so far, the president has met with 185 councils during these series of trips initiated to meet with local councils.
The President's Office has further revealed that ministers and some senior government officials are accompanying him on this trip. They have also disclosed that the trip is scheduled to conclude with his return to capital Malé City on Sunday.
