The Maldives Police Service (MPS) has unveiled a post on Dhiffushi island in Kaafu atoll.
Upon the inauguration of the police post, police services have commenced on the island.
The Dhiffushi Police Post was officially unveiled by Commissioner of Police Ali Shujau and Dhiffushi Council President Ibrahim Sunil. The national flag at the police post was hoisted by Council President Sunil. The police flag was hoisted by Commissioner Shujau.
With the commencement of police services in Dhiffushi, police services are now being provided across all islands of Malé atoll. The police institution notes that this is a significant expansion.
To date, police services are being provided in a total of 148 islands in the Maldives.
CP Shujau has stated that the goal is to establish police services in all inhabited islands of the Maldives and create a safe and secure environment. He also said that they want to provide services closer to the citizens.
The inauguration ceremony of the police post was attended by Deputy Commissioner of Police Farhad Fikuree, some executive officers of the police, commissioned officers, and other police personnel, in addition to Dhiffushi Council members, staff from various institutions, and some members of the island community.
