Maldives has lost their second match of the AFC Asian Cup Qualifications, to Bahrain.
Maldives drew with Bhutan in the opening game of the AFC Asian Cup Qualifications on Saturday with a score of 2 – 2. This was after Bhutan had taken a two-goal lead, but the Maldives came from behind to score two goals.
In the second game played against Bahrain on Monday, Maldives lost 1 – 0.
Bahrain scored their only goal in the last ten minutes of the match.
Ibrahim Ahmed Ayash scored for their team in the 83rd minute.
Although the Maldives lost the match against Bahrain, they showed a good performance.
Maldives also generated several opportunities to score.
Maldives is in Group C in the qualifications, along with Bhutan, South Korea, China, and Bahrain.
After playing the third match against South Korea on Wednesday, Maldives’ fourth match will be against China on Friday.
