Maldives has lost the final game in the group stage of the Under-20 Asian Cup qualifiers.
Maldives is in Group F of the qualifiers currently taking place in Indonesia.
The group also includes Indonesia, Yemen, and Timor-Leste.
Maldives went head-to-head with Timor-Leste in the final group stage match, after losing its first two matches in the group stage.
Timor-Leste also lost their two matches.
However, in the final game of the group stage Timor-Leste beat Maldives 4 – 1.
Maldives’ Abdulla Fizaan Abdul Ghafoor was slapped with a red card in the first half of the game.
Timor-Leste scored their goals after this. The goals were scored by Alexandro Bakhito Lemos, Wabio Canavaro Pirez and Luís Figo Ribeiro. Their fourth goal was an own goal by Maldives’ Mohamed Aiman Ali.
The only goal for Maldives was scored by Muzdhaan Hassan.
With this result, Maldives finished the qualifiers without any points, in fourth place in the group.
Timor-Leste, who won against Maldives, secured third place in the group.
Maldives faced an embarrassing defeat against Indonesia in their opening game and lost to Yemen in their second game.
