Bank of Maldives (BML) has supported the ‘Pink Ribbon Run-Walk’.

In a statement issued on Saturday, the country’s national bank revealed that they supported the annual ‘Pink Ribbon Run-Walk’ to raise cancer awareness.

The ‘Pink Ribbon Run-Walk’ was organized by Cancer Society of Maldives (CSM).

The event was held at Central Park in the capital city’s suburban extension Hulhumalé as well as 11 islands in outlying atolls.

More than 2,400 participants registered for the event.

The event was held with the purpose of raising awareness and funds for cancer screening and other cancer-related treatments, as October is marked as breast cancer awareness month.

The event is held annually to raise public awareness on breast cancer and promoting early detection.

BML donated MVR 200,000 to CSM in support of initiatives to increase cancer awareness and provide psychosocial support to cancer patients and their families.

The Cancer Society of Maldives continues to carry out initiatives to increase cancer awareness and provide psychosocial support to cancer patients and their families through the financial support of the country’s national bank.

The country’s national bank has been supporting the Cancer Society and the ‘Pink Ribbon Run-Walk' since 2016, as part of the company’s corporate social responsibility policy.
