Maldives Police Service (MPS) has launched an investigation into a case of child abduction.
A family member of the victim took to social media, sharing that a boy who was at home in an island of Laamu atoll, was taken outside by a group of his school mates. They are to have abducted him, taken him to a location, stripped him naked and blackmailed him.
The police institution revealed that the matter has been brought to their attention.
MPS went on to reveal that they are presently working to gather information related to the case.
This is being done in collaboration with relevant authorities.
