Ibrahim Jauharee, 62, was found dead at sea
Maldives Police Service (MPS) has revealed that Ibrahim Jauharee, 62, who was found dead at sea in the capital, was last seen fishing at sea.
The police institution revealed that findings so far indicate that he ventured into the waters near the bridge area to fish, at around 03:04pm on Monday.
Jauharee was a notable figure in capturing photos and videos at several political events, particularly those of the main-opposition Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP).
The 62-year-old man was discovered dead at sea near the Usfasgandu region, and the discovery was reported to police at around 05:06pm on Monday.
MPS revealed that his body was taken to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH).
Police cited doctors having revealed that the man was already dead, when he was brought in.
Further investigations are currently underway in connection with the case.
