The identity of the youth arrested in connection with the fatal accident in Hulhumalé, has been publicized.
Maldives Police Service (MPS) revealed that the dangerous accident that killed a youth, occurred in the early hours of Friday.
Deceased in the tragic crash is a 23-year-old Maldivian man, identified as Hassan Samaah. He succumbed to severe head injuries while receiving treatment at Hulhumalé Hospital.
MPS received reports of the accident at around 02:48am on Friday.
The accident occurred after a speeding car collided with a motorcycle near Central Park.
A 26-year-old Maldivian man who was driving the car, was arrested in connection with the case.
Arrested was Mohamed Visam Sidhugee, native to Hithadhoo district of southernmost Addu City.
Further investigations are currently underway in connection with the accident.
