Three individuals have been injured in an accident near the China-Maldives friendship bridge, Sinamalé Bridge.

The Maldives Police Service (MPS) revealed that the accident occurred after two motorcycles collided near the Sinamalé Bridge traffic light.

MPS received reports of the crash at around 05:26am on Friday.

The 21-year-old man who was operating one of the two motorcycles involved in the crash and a 19-year-old woman who was with him were treated for injuries at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH).

The 43-year-old man riding the other motorcycle was treated for injuries attained in the crash, at ADK Hospital.

Further investigations are currently underway in connection with the accident.
