A Maldivian man has been publicly summoned in connection with a case being probed in Eydhafushi island of Baa atoll.

The Maldives Police Service (MPS) publicized the summons notice for the man wanted in connection with an ongoing probe linked to theft, on Sunday.

MPS revealed that the theft case is being investigated by the Eydhafushi Police Station.

The police institution revealed that the summons notice was publicized as the authority’s efforts to locate the suspect and handover his summons notice, have been to no avail so far, and as the MPS has been unable to track him down.

The summons was issued in accordance with Section 27 of the Code of Criminal Procedure to be followed by the police while investigating criminal cases.

Summoned is Mohamed Shaavee, 23 and native to Feydhoo district of southernmost Addu City.

The suspect was wanted for questioning in connection with the theft case being investigated by Eydhafushi police.

The suspect is to present himself to the Adam Haleem Criminal Investigation Building at 1pm on August 27.
