Two motorcycles of police officers have been torched in Henbadhoo island of Noonu atoll.
Spokesperson of the Maldives Police Service (MPS), Ahmed Shifan took to social media platform ‘X’, noting that the arson attack on one of the two motorcycles occurred on August 1.
The second one was torched in the early hours of Friday.
According to the police spokesperson, this was suspected to have been done by a group of suspects against a drug operation being conducted by the police in Noonu atoll.
Shifan however, did not disclose any further details regarding the case.
He added that such a cowardly act would not sway the confidence and determination of the police institution in the slightest.
Shifan said that this is a reminder to those who carry such perspectives.
