A man has been publicly summoned in connection with a case linked to drugs.
The Maldives Police Service (MPS) publicized the summons notice for the man wanted in connection with an ongoing probe linked to drugs, on Tuesday.
MPS revealed that the case is being investigated by their Drug Enforcement Department (DED).
The police institution revealed that the summons notice was publicized as the authority’s efforts to locate the suspect and handover his summons notice, have been to no avail so far, and as the MPS has been unable to track him down.
The summons was issued in accordance with section 27 of the Code of Criminal Procedure to be followed by the police while investigating criminal cases.
Summoned is Ibrahim Rasheed, 41 and native to Madifushi island of Thaa atoll.
The suspect was summoned for questioning in connection with the case linked to drugs.
The suspect is to present himself to the Adam Haleem Criminal Investigation Building or the police station closest to him at 12pm on July 23.
