Two individuals arrested in Kamadhoo island of Baa atoll in connection with a drug case have been remanded.

On Sunday, the Maldives Police Service (MPS) stated that during an operation conducted by the Kamadhoo Police Post on July 2, while searching a house in Kamadhoo island in relation to a case of suspected drug possession and trafficking, a rubber packet containing suspected narcotics was confiscated.

The two individuals arrested in connection with the case are Ali Riyadh Hassan, 53, and Aminath Fareesha, 42.

Further, the police stated that when the two individuals arrested in connection with the case were presented before the court to determine their remand, the man was ordered to be remanded for five days, and the woman for 30 days.

Further investigations are currently underway in connection with the case.
