Migrant working at Sinamalé Bridge, dies

A migrant worker working at the Sinamalé Bridge has died.

The Maldives Police Service (MPS) revealed that a migrant worker was rushed to the hospital some time after sundown on Monday, after he got lightheaded and collapsed.

He was taken to Tree Top Hospital in Hulhumalé, the capital city’s suburban extension.

Police cited doctors at the hospital having revealed that he was already deceased when he was brought in.

The deceased has been identified as an Indian national.

Further details including the cause of his death and the circumstances surrounding the incident, were not disclosed by the authorities.
