A summons notice has been publicized for two individuals wanted in connection with an ongoing probe.
The Maldives Police Service (MPS) revealed that the case is being investigated by the police station in Funadhoo island of Shaviyani atoll.
The two suspects wanted in connection with the probe are allegedly involved in a case of fraudulently acquiring money.
In a publication on Tuesday, the police institution revealed that the summons notice was publicized as the authority’s efforts to locate the suspects and handover their summons notice have been to no avail so far, and as the MPS has been unable to track them down.
The summons was issued in accordance with section 27 of the Code of Criminal Procedure to be followed by the police while investigating criminal cases.
Summoned are Ali Rasheed, 45 and Luqman Ismail, 31, both native to capital Malé City.
Police revealed that the suspects are summoned for questioning regarding the case.
Rasheed is to present himself to the Funadhoo Police Station or the police station closest to him at 10am on 10 June 2024.
Luqman is to present himself to the Funadhoo Police Station or the police station closest to him at 2pm on 10 June 2024.
