No trace of explosives inside van, no danger: MNDF
The blast was not caused by an explosive device
The explosion was reported on Tuesday evening
Although an explosion was recorded from Galolhu-ward of capital Malé City on Tuesday evening, the blast is not believed to have been from an explosive device.
Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) responded to an explosion inside a van parked at the ‘Galolhu Kanmathi’ region in capital Malé City.
The authorities revealed that findings so far indicate that the blast was not from an explosive device.
Further, authorities confirmed that there is no further threat or danger.
Officers of the Maldives Police Service (MPS) are currently active at the scene.
MPS has revealed that no injuries were reported in connection with the explosion.
The police institution has also revealed that MNDF has assured that it was not from an explosive device, according to investigations by the MNDF bomb squad.
