A summons notice has been publicized for an individual wanted in connection with a case of fraud.
The Maldives Police Service (MPS) revealed that the case is being investigated by the police station in Villingili island of Gaaf Alif atoll.
In a publication on Wednesday, the police institution revealed that the summons notice was publicized as the authority’s efforts to locate the suspect and handover his summons notice have been to no avail so far, and as the MPS has been unable to track him down.
The summons was issued in accordance with section 27 of the Code of Criminal Procedure to be followed by the police while investigating criminal cases.
The man wanted in connection with the probe is allegedly involved in a case of fraud.
Summoned is Abdulla Niyaaz, 51 and native to capital Malé City.
Police revealed that the suspect is summoned for questioning regarding the case.
The suspect is to present himself to the GA. Villingili Police Station or the police station closest to him at 2pm on May 28.
