A scam awareness roadshow has been conducted in Hulhumalé.
The Maldives Police Service (MPS)’s neighborhood police in the capital Malé City’s suburban extension organized the scam awareness roadshow, in a bid to spread awareness among the communities due to increasing scams.
The initiative was held from May 4 – 5.
Information was provided to residents of Hulhumalé Phase I and Phase II, in areas where people gather in large numbers.
During the information sessions, officers offered multiple messages regarding the prevention of scams.
Officers also distributed badges containing valuable information, leaflets as well as cards and police calendars to the public.
Further, officers also shared some tips on precautionary steps to be taken these days, as it is the holiday season and people need to be fully alert for scams.
The programme was conducted with the collaboration of the Police Economic Crime Department.
Information was shared with a large crowd of people in Hulhumalé Phase I and Phase II.
