Manhunt launched for suspect in property vandalism case

Maldives Police Service (MPS) has launched a manhunt for an individual wanted in connection with a case of vandalism to office property.
The police institution revealed that the case is being investigated by their Serious and Organized Crime Department.
Being located in connection with the case is Ibrahim Nashid, 34 and native to Thinadhoo island of Gaaf Dhaal atoll.
Police revealed that the man is being summoned for questioning regarding a case where the suspect is accused of vandalizing and stealing from an office.
The manhunt was publicized as the authority’s efforts to locate the man and handover his summons notice has been to no avail so far, and as the MPS has been unable to track him down.
The summons was issued in accordance with section 27 of the Code of Criminal Procedure to be followed by the police while investigating criminal cases.
He is wanted for questioning regarding the ongoing probe.
He is to present himself to the Sergeant Adam Haleem Criminal Investigation Building or the police station closest to him, at 08:30am on 12 May 2024.
