President Muizzu conveyed greetings on the occasion of the International Labor Day

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has assured that he remains committed to provide a prosperous lifestyle for all Maldivian workers within his five-year presidential term.

He said this in a written address made on the occasion of International Labor Day 2024.

Shedding light on his administration’s efforts to facilitate labor rights, Muizzu detailed the efforts initiated to increase wages and benefits for government employees.

He went on to shed light on the initiatives to generate increased employment opportunities for local workers by allocating 22 professional sectors exclusively to local employees.

The president also detailed his administration’s strict measures to shut down businesses operated across the island nation by undocumented foreign nationals, who will be swiftly deported within a span of 48 hours.

Going on to emphasize his administration's future plans, Muizzu touched upon his focus on facilitating training and development opportunities and establishing services such as daycare centers to provide efficient lifestyles for families nationwide.

Muizzu also expressed hope that to see his administration's endeavors in this direction ushering in a more promising future for all local workers.

In addition to this, he noted that they would build a foundation for many opportunities for workers to progress.

Extending his sincere appreciation to all locals and foreigners engaged in endeavors, both in the Maldives and overseas, who are contributing to the progress of the Maldives.

President Muizzu went on to convey greetings on the occasion of the International Labor Day.
