Dangerous accidents in Fuvahmulah, one being treated in ICU
One accident occurred after a motorcycle skidded in an attempt to dodge debris on the road
Accidents in Fuvahmulah City
Several people have been injured in two dangerous road accidents that took place in Fuvahmulah City.
The Maldives Police Service (MPS) revealed that both accidents took place in the southern city of Fuvahmulah on Sunday evening.
One accident took place after an individual riding a motorcycle skidded in an attempt to avoid debris that had fallen onto the road and crashed. This happened near the airport area.
Injured in the accident is a 27-year-old, who is being treated at Fuvahmulah Regional Hospital.
Another accident was reported at around 10:48pm on Sunday, after two motorcycles collided.
Three individuals were rushed to Fuvahmulah Regional Hospital for treatment. One of them is being treated for serious injuries, in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
MPS has revealed that further investigations are currently underway, in connection with both accidents.
