President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has promised that major housing projects would be implemented for the residents of Gan island in Laamu atoll.
He said this while speaking to residents of Gan island as part of his recent brief tour of some islands of Laamu atoll, which he began on Thursday morning.
Taking the podium at the event, the president noted that the highest number of housing projects will be carried out on the island, in comparison to other housing projects implemented across the country.
Highlighting that the government would prioritize areas with larger land areas as part of the nationwide housing project, the president stated that all of the development projects that the people of the island had suggested would be carried out.
The president also revealed that his official policy included doing everything necessary to transform Gan Regional Hospital into a tertiary-level hospital at the highest level, as promised.
In addition to this, he announced that an international mental healthcare hospital would be established on the island.
