Police seek suspects in hit-and-run on street sweeper

A 48-year-old woman was injured in the hit-and-run

A manhunt has been launched for suspects in a hit-and-run case in the capital, Malé City.

The Maldives Police Service (MPS) revealed that the suspects are being located, for hitting a woman who was sweeping the streets of the capital city with their motorcycle, before fleeing.

The incident took place on Izzudheen Magu.

MPS revealed that they received reports of the accident at around 11:17pm on Thursday.

The victim, a 48-year-old Maldivian woman, was treated for injuries at Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH).

The police institution confirmed that the two individuals involved in the hit-and-run, fled the scene.

Authorities are currently working to locate the two suspects, as well as the motorcycle they were operating.

Further investigations in connection with the accident, are currently underway.
