Maldives Police Service (MPS) has launched a manhunt for an individual wanted for police interrogation in connection with an ongoing probe.
The police institution revealed that the case is being investigated by the Addu City Hulhumeedhoo Police Station.
The summons was issued in accordance with section 27 of the Code of Criminal Procedure to be followed by the police while investigating criminal cases.
The manhunt was publicized as the authority’s efforts to locate the man and handover his summons notice has been to no avail so far, and as the MPS has been unable to track him down.
Summoned is Mohamed Nashid, 53 and native to Hithadhoo district of the southernmost Addu City.
He is wanted for questioning regarding the ongoing probe.
He is accused of involvement in a case of fraud.
He is to present himself to the Addu City Hulhumeedhoo Police Station or the police station closest to his current location, at 10am on March 28.
