The project to complete the Home for People with Special Needs in Guraidhoo island of Kaafu atoll, has wrapped up.
Bank of Maldives (BML) revealed this via a statement issued on Sunday.
The country’s national bank revealed that the home has been completed to feature a fully functional industrial kitchen set up with equipment and food storage compartments.
In addition to a small library corner, the building also features an outdoor area for food preparation.
BML revealed that dedicated staff areas were also upgraded with lockers, washrooms, and tea rooms for male and female staff, separately.
Further, as part of the project, essential equipment was also donated to equip the wards, including beds, mattresses, sofas, and chairs.
BML announced the refurbishment and upgrading of Home for People with Special Needs (HPSN) in Guraidhoo as the sixth event of a series of 12 high-impact monthly community initiatives leading up to the country’s national bank’s 40th anniversary, celebrated in November 2022.
