President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has embarked on a tour of several islands in Dhaal, Meemu and Vaavu atolls.

The president departed on the three-day visit from Velana International Airport (VIA) on Tuesday.

As part of the visit, the president will be visiting several islands in the three atolls where he will sit down for talks with island residents, councils, and Women’s Development Committees (WDCs) across as many islands as he is able to.

Further, the president will also be holding discussions with the atoll councils of all three atolls.

His ongoing series of visits to outlying atolls is seeing the president meeting with local councils of atolls, islands and cities.

Discussions at these meetings have been revolving around inquiries into the well-being of the island and city communities, as well as strategies to prioritize development initiatives.

The president has already held meetings with 121 local councils across Maldives.

The president has expressed commitment to visit all islands across the nation at least twice within his five-year presidential term.
