Council members of Kinolhas island in Raa atoll have stressed on the urgency of preserving the island’s eroding shore areas.

This was done during a meeting President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu held with the island’s council and Women's Development Committee (WDC) members on Saturday.

The meeting saw councilors stressing on the importance of preserving eroding shore areas on the island and sharing urgent development needs with the president.

As such, discussions revolved around the construction of a new building to address the space constraints at the council secretariat, the need to construct a new mosque, the need to upgrade the futsal ground, renovating the volleyball court as well as establishing an indoor gym.

Listening to these concerns, the president assured the members that his administration would address the issues raised by the council and seek solutions to tackle them, through consultations with relevant authorities.

Muizzu expressed commitment to address the most pressing concerns of the island community.
