He said this while speaking to residents of Gaadhiffushi island of Thaa atoll on Thursday.
The meeting with Gaadhiffushi residents was held as part of the president’s brief three-day tour of some islands of Thaa atoll, which he began on Tuesday and concluded on Thursday.
Taking the podium at the event, the president affirmed that the construction of the island school’s building and all the initiatives associated with it, would be highly prioritized by his administration.
Highlighting that a land reclamation project would begin on the island this year, as well as the construction of the Thaa Guraidhoo Airport.
The president went on to highlight the lack of feasibility in the construction of the island port initiated by the previous administration.
Muizzu stated that his administration remains committed to upgrade the project.
Further, he reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to implement additional development projects on the islands.
At the meeting, the president shed light on his administration’s policy to incorporate uninhabited islands within the jurisdiction of island councils, under the established guidelines.
