A fire has broken out inside Nalahiya Hotel in the capital Malé City.
The Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) revealed that a team of their fire and rescue department was dispatched to the scene.
The team was dispatched to the scene after they received reports of smoke rising from the first floor of the building.
The report was received at around 06:22pm on Saturday.
Upon investigation, the team of firefighters found that the source of the fire was a sauna on the first floor of the building.
Officials from the fire and rescue services immediately got to work to clear the smoke from the area.
MNDF is yet to provide details of the extent of damage caused by the fire.
