A search is ongoing for a man wanted to be presented to the Hulhumalé Magistrate Court.
Maldives Police Service (MPS) revealed that they were instructed to locate the suspect and present him to the Hulhumalé Magistrate Court, after efforts by the court to locate the suspect were to no avail.
Being sought is Ibrahim Shafeeq, 40 and native to Dhidhdhoo island of Haa Alif atoll.
The police institution revealed that the 40-year-old is wanted in connection with a case linked to deceit and fraud.
The court order has instructed MPS to locate the man and take him into police custody before presenting him at Hulhumalé Magistrate Court at 10:30am on January 31.
The public has been urged to reach out to the Police Custodial Department through 9991442 if any information regarding the suspect is attained.
MPS took the opportunity to express gratitude to the public for the generous assistance and support extended in such cases.
