The police post established in Lhaimagu island of Shaviyani atoll, has been officially inaugurated.
The police post was established with the purpose of providing police services closer to the island community.
The Maldives Police Service (MPS) announced the official opening of the Lhaimagu Police Post on Thursday, via a post on social media platform ‘X’.
The Police Post on Lhaimagu island was inaugurated by Commissioner of Police Ali Shujau.
The momentous ceremony was attended by senior officers of the police institution and dignitaries from multiple institutions.
MPS revealed that the establishment of the Lhaimagu Police Post reinforces their commitment to improve community safety and to encourage law enforcement collaboration.
The police institution inaugurated three more police posts earlier in December, including one in Nellaidhoo island of Haa Dhaal atoll on December 9, one in Fulidhoo island in Vaavu Atoll on December 18 and one in Thinadhoo island of Vaavu atoll on December 20.
As part of efforts to serve the people of the island closer, in a decentralized manner, the police services were inaugurated in these islands in collaboration with the island communities.
