Man arrested in connection with attack at Hiyaa tower over family dispute

An arrest has been made over an attack on an individual over a family dispute in one of the Hiyaa housing flats in Hulhumalé Phase II.
The Maldives Police Service (MPS) revealed that the arrest was made after an individual was assaulted with a sharp weapon, over a family dispute.
The assault was reported from an apartment in the H6 Hiyaa tower on Wednesday.
The victim has been identified as a Maldivian man.
A 19-year-old Maldivian man was arrested in connection with the case, some time on Wednesday night.
The 22-year-old victim was rushed to Hulhumalé Hospital for treatment.
The police institution revealed that their initial findings indicate that the attack stemmed from a family dispute.
Further investigations are currently underway in connection with the case.
