Parliament Secretary General heads home, while MPs arrived for session

Security did allow some MPs to enter Parliament

Parliament Secretary General Ahmed Mohamed on Monday exited the Parliament, as Members of Parliament aligned with the opposition entered the Parliament premises.

RaajjeMV understands that the Parliament’s Secretary General had arrived at the Parliament premises early on Monday morning.

However, following the joint PG meeting of the MPs held in Maafannu Kunooz on Monday morning, when the MPs had attempted to enter Parliament premises, the Secretary General had left.

All entrances to the Parliament were locked off, forcing the Parliamentarians to enter the premises by jumping over the Parliament entrances.

Special Operation Police Officers had forcibly evicted MPs from the premises. MPs were injured after being pepper sprayed by Police.

Secretary General had refused to answer any other questions citing that he was home and that security of the Parliament was carried out by Army.
