Ooredoo Maldives has opened registrations for its Fun Run 2023 event.

The telecommunications company revealed that the much-anticipated Ooredoo Fun Run, previously and more commonly known as the celebrated Ooredoo Color Run, is slated for December 22 and will be held in Hulhumalé.

Further, the company has also introduced the first-ever drone race in the Maldives, ‘Ooredoo Drone Race’, which will be an exciting new addition to the activities planned for this year's event to make it a day of enjoyment and unforgettable memories for all participants.

The registration window will close on November 30, according to Ooredoo.

Ooredoo opened registrations for enthusiastic runners on Moolee, during a special press conference held on Sunday at Ooredoo Maldives Headquarters.

Chief Commercial Officer of Ooredoo Maldives Hussain Niyaz and Managing Director of Stabisys Maldives Ibrahim Nihad joined the press conference.

Stabisys Maldives, the authorised distributor of DJI in the Maldives, is collaborating as the Premium Partner for Ooredoo Fun Run 2023.

Niyaz expressed joy to announce the first-ever drone show race, as they gear up for another edition of the fun run series. He added that the drone race will take the fun run to new heights of happiness.

He highlighted that introducing exciting sports like drone racing adds to their aim to create fun and exciting experiences that combine both innovation and skill building in a creative way.

Ooredoo Drone Race will take place in Hulhumalé on the morning of December 22 and promises to add a new dimension of excitement to the festivities of Ooredoo Fun Run.

Drone enthusiasts will have the opportunity to observe and participate in this exciting competition, which will be timed and challenges participants to navigate through a specially designed drone racing track that includes obstacles and hoops to reach the finish line in the fastest time.

Ooredoo Maldives will be announcing registration details for the drone race on their official social media channels.

Fun Run kits will be made available in two categories; standard kits and fun kits. The latter comes at a price of MVR 200 and provides Fun Run t-shirts, wrist bands, tote bags, bandanas and shades.

The standard kits include Fun Run t-shirts and wrist bands and are priced at MVR 100 each.

Enthusiastic runners of all ages are welcome to book their slots in the five-kilometer Fun Run, which promises several fun activities for participants.

The event welcomes both new and experienced runners to join in the excitement.

The event carries the purpose of encouraging healthy lifestyles and showing how enjoyable and fun running is. The organizer promises the event to be fun and worthwhile, even for beginners. For a splash of fun colors, each kilometer is separated with a “color station”, water and fun obstacles and every participant can finish the race at their desired pace, as it is not a timed race.

The event aims to promote running as a gateway to healthy living, and thousands from different age groups can participate to either run, jog or walk the five kilometers and have their efforts celebrated in style with a foam party, finisher medals and a music show.

Ooredoo Maldives has invited enthusiastic runners and professionals as well as members of the general public to join the event to soak in an amazing time with friends and family.

The previous fun runs hosted by Ooredoo were a massive success and received immense public praise.
