The government has re-opened an application window for a vacancy at the Human Rights Commission of Maldives (HRCM).
The application opportunity for membership at the commission was opened by the President’s Office on Saturday, due to insufficient applications received during the initial application period.
Applications were initially opened earlier in October, following the recent resignation of a commission member.
The President’s Office will be accepting applications for the post from 9:30am to 12:30pm on October 26.
Earlier, applications were opened from October 15 – 16.
Application forms have been made available for download through the official website of the President’s Office.
Appointments to HRCM are made under the powers vested to the president under Section 5(a) of the Human Rights Commission Act (Act 6/2006), which stipulates that the members of HRCM shall be appointed by the president after parliamentary approval.
According to the Human Rights Commission Act of the Maldives, the commission must comprise of five members.
