An individual who was speeding on a snatched motorcycle has met with a fatal accident.

The Maldives Police Service (MPS) revealed that the accident took place at around 07:02pm on Sunday, on Lilly Magu, where Sultan Park is located in the capital, Malé City.

The police institution revealed that the accident occurred after two motorcycles crashed, one of which was being operated by someone who stole the vehicle.

Sources report that the man who was operating the stolen vehicle, fled the scene following the collision.

However, the unconscious man who was on the passenger seat, was left behind where he fell on the street.

The individual operating the second vehicle had also attained injuries.

Further details of the extent of their injuries have not been disclosed by MPS.

However, it has been revealed that further investigation is currently underway.
