Gov't announces application process for vacancy at HRCM

The President’s Office will be accepting applications for the post on October 15 and October 16

The government has opened an application window for a vacancy at the Human Rights Commission of Maldives (HRCM).

The opportunity for membership at the commission was opened by the President’s Office on Sunday, following the recent resignation of a commission member.

The President’s Office will be accepting applications for the post on October 15 and October 16 between 9:30am and 12:30pm.

Application forms have been made available for download through the official website of the President’s Office.

Appointments to HRCM are made under the powers vested to the president under Section 5(a) of the Human Rights Commission Act (Act 6/2006), which stipulates that the members of HRCM shall be appointed by the president after parliamentary approval.

According to the Human Rights Commission Act of the Maldives, the commission must comprise of five members.
