An application window for a vacancy at HRCM was last opened back in October 2023

The government has opened an application window for a vacancy at the Human Rights Commission of Maldives (HRCM).

The application opportunity for membership at the commission was opened by the President’s Office on Thursday.

The office revealed that they are accepting applications for a vacancy at the commission, from 8am to 12pm on June 30.

Applications will be accepted at the front desk of the President’s Office.

Application forms have been made available for download through the official website of the President’s Office.

An application window for a vacancy at HRCM was last opened back in October 2023, following the recent resignation of a commission member.

Appointments to HRCM are made under the powers vested to the president under Section 5(a) of the Human Rights Commission Act (Act 6/2006), which stipulates that the members of HRCM shall be appointed by the president after parliamentary approval.

According to the Human Rights Commission Act of the Maldives, the commission must comprise of five members.
