Ha. Dhihdhoo Land Reclamation Project commenced

The Land Reclamation Project of Dhihdhoo Island in Haa Alifu Atoll has been commenced.

The Land Reclamation Project of Dhihdhoo Island was commenced by the Minister of Defence, Mariya Didi.

Minister Mariya commenced the project on Tuesday, during a special ceremony held on the island.

Noting that the company understand the difficulty citizens of Dhidhooo are facing with their housing and other needs due to the scarcity of land on the island, MTCC stated that the company aims to complete the Dhidhoo land reclamation project within the stipulated timeframe.

Under the project, MTCC will be doing reclamation operations of 623,968 cubic meters.

Additionally, the scope of work of the project also includes 1150 meter sand bund wall, 10,962 cubic meters beach area reclamation operations, 916 meter excavation of bioswale trench, 916 meter laying geotextile and 916 meter coral rubble.

The value of the project is MVR 83.07 million.
