The construction of a mosque in Kendhoo island of Baa atoll, has been contracted.

The government contracted the project to build a mosque in Kendhoo island to Fast Line Private Limited.

The contract was signed by Minister of Islamic Affairs Dr. Ahmed Zahir Ali on behalf of the government.

Fast Line Private Limited has been contracted to construct a mosque that will have the capacity to accommodate up to 500 worshippers, under the agreement.

The project was contracted to be completed within 365 days and comes under the government’s Public Sector Investment Programme (PSIP) initiative.

The Kendhoo mosque construction project is valued at MVR 15,424,823.52.

The Ministry of Islamic Affairs revealed that the mosque will be built to accommodate both men and women worshipers.
