President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has inaugurated the completion of infrastructure development projects in four islands of Noonu Atoll.
The Projects were inaugurated as part of the President's tour of the atoll on Saturday and Sunday.
President Solih on Saturday, visited Kendhikulhudhoo Island in the Noonu Atoll and inaugurated the development of a modern football ground, the new Fenaka Office and powerhouse of the island.
The football ground, inaugurated by the President, has been layered with turf, fenced, and equipped with a lighting system. The government contracted AMIN Construction Pvt. Ltd. for its development.
The new Fenaka Office can accommodate up to 30 staff members, while the powerhouse boasts a power generation capacity of 1,720 kilowatts.
The President also attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a new hospital on the island. The facility is designed to accommodate 30 beds and will provide advanced medical care to the local community.
On Sunday, the President inaugurated the completion of several infrastructure projects on Manadhoo Island in the Noonu Atoll.
These projects include the development of a water supply network, six Outpatient Department (OPD) rooms, and a laboratory in Noonu Atoll Hospital. A multipurpose hall was also constructed in the Noonu Atoll Education Centre, along with an indoor gym, a modern football ground, and the Fenaka Office.
Vishwaraj Environment Pvt. Ltd. completed the water system project on Manadhoo Island under a USD 800 million line-of-credit facility from the Exim Bank of India. As a result, 269 households have been connected to the water network. Additionally, President Solih inaugurated the multipurpose hall, a state-of-the-art and spacious building built by Afami Maldives Pvt. Ltd.
Before inaugurating the new and modernized football ground, President Solih also inaugurated the completion of the indoor gym. The new FENAKA Office, developed in the harbor area, can accommodate up to 30 staff members. These developments mark significant progress in the infrastructure of Manadhoo Island.
The President on Sunday, also inaugurated the visited Miladhoo Island as part of his ongoing tour of the islands in the Noonu Atoll. During his visit, he marked the completion of several infrastructure development projects, including an upgraded harbor, a new Fenaka Office, and a powerhouse on the island.
The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) completed the development of the upgraded harbor, which opened officially on Sunday. The upgrade included dredging the harbor and channel basin to increase their depth, installing new ramps and port lights, and constructing pavement to improve accessibility and functionality. These enhancements will provide significant benefits to the local community.
President Solih also inaugurated the new Fenaka Office and powerhouse on Miladhoo Island. These facilities have state-of-the-art amenities, including a powerhouse with a power generation capacity of 1,080 kilowatts. The new Fenaka Office can accommodate 30 employees, representing a significant increase from the previous office’s capacity of just three.
Additionally, the new Fenaka Office and powerhouse of Fodhdhoo Island in Noonu Atoll was also inaugurated by the President on Sunday.
The newly inaugurated Fenaka office and powerhouse on Fohdhoo Island have been developed with state-of-the-art amenities.
The powerhouse boasts a capacity of 530 kilowatts, while the modern and spacious FENAKA office features a reception area, lobby, manager's room, pantry, meeting room, guest room, and storage facilities. The office has been designed to provide a comfortable and efficient working environment for Fenaka employees and serve the local community's needs better.
These new amenities will improve the quality of life for island residents and promote economic growth in the region.
Under President Solih's leadership, the administration has made significant strides towards achieving equitable development across all inhabited islands in the Maldives. This includes enhancing the quality of life for citizens and empowering them to lead dignified lives. During his visits to various islands, President Solih is officially inaugurating the completion of numerous projects and services.
