Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has disclosed that the Harbor Development Project of Ukulhas Island in Alif Alif Atoll is well underway.
Taking to twitter on Sunday, MTCC disclosed that Ukulhas Harbor Development Project is currently underway with overall 72 percent project completion.
The company stated that jetty beam and slab shuttering, reinforcement and casting work is currently ongoing at the site.
MTCC revealed that they have completed the quay wall construction component of the project.
Further, the work to install the harbor pavement has also been completed.
MTCC revealed that the harbor dredging operations have also been completed.
Under the scope of the project, MTCC is required to conduct harbor dredging operations in an area measuring 4,954 cubic meters.
The construction of a five-meter breakwater, a revetment measuring 484 meters and a quay wall measuring 264 meters also comes under the scope of the project.
The company will also be building a connectivity bridge, a concrete jetty and an apron.
The harbor pavement installed under the project measures 1,640 square meters.
Further, the project will also see the installation of harbor lights.
The project is valued at MVR 40.3 million.
