MMPRC has concluded an exclusive media familiarization trip for top influencers from India to the Maldives

Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) has concluded an exclusive media familiarization trip for top influencers from India to the Maldives.

The campaign was conducted from 15th to 22nd July 2023.

MMPRC states that this campaign captivated the Indian audience with the unmatched beauty and luxurious offerings of the Maldives.

The group of participants included five popular influencers and one PR representative who collectively showcased the unparalleled charm of the Maldives through their extensive social media presence and online platforms.

The influencers that took part in the trip were, Thomson Pascal Sequira, Rohan Mehra, Kanika Mann, Aakriti Rana, and Shaurya Sanadhya Tulshyan, totalling to a reach of over 14 million.

MMPRC states that each influencer brought their unique perspective and influence to the campaign, and their captivating posts, stories, and content showcased the luxurious host properties and highlighted the incredible experiences the Maldives has to offer.

During their visit, the participants indulged in signature cuisines and a series of unforgettable experiences in world-class properties such as Pullman Maldives, Movenpick, Resort Kuredhivaru, and Cinnamon Velifushi Maldives.

This includes exploring spa facilities and wellness offerings, engaging in water sports activities, snorkelling trips and Mermaid Introduction Class.

This media familiarization trip comes at a time when Indian arrivals to the Maldives have soared, with 113,759 visitors recorded as of 7th July 2023.

India has emerged as the leading source market, accounting for a staggering 14.4 percent of all tourists to the Maldives.

This trip is part of MMPRC's ongoing efforts to promote the Maldives as a top-of-the-mind destination for luxury travel.

With a comprehensive marketing strategy encompassing PR activities, fairs, joint promotions, radio campaigns, social media and digital marketing, and roadshows, MMPRC aims to reach a broad target market in India and reinforce the Maldives’ position as the ultimate luxury getaway.

Earlier, MMPRC conducted hosted a successful roadshow series in India.

The roadshows were held in Lucknow, Jaipur, and Chandigarh, India and focused predominantly on connecting with tour operators and travel agents from the Indian market; strengthening trade relationships; and maintaining India as one of the top source markets for the Maldives.

MMPRC states that the series also aimed to elevate individual products and experiences, aligned with their strategies for the Indian market.

The first roadshow was held in Lucknow on 17th July 2023, the second roadshow at Jaipur on the 19th of July 2023, followed by a consecutive third roadshow on 20th July 2023 at Chandigarh. 

A total of 22 renowned companies from the Maldivian tourism industry took part in the roadshow, presenting their unique products and services to the Indian market.

MMPRC notes that the participation of so many high-profile travel and tourism companies in this event further spotlights the dedication of the Maldives’ tourism sector towards the preferences of the Indian market, Maldives' top source market for the past 3 years. 

MMPRC conducted raffles during the roadshow series and the lucky winner at Lucknow was gifted a free two-day stay at Cinnamon Hotel and Resort. For the raffle held during the roadshows in Jaipur and Chandigarh, the lucky winner from each roadshow was gifted a stay at the JW Marriott and Robinson Maldives respectively.
