President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has attributed the development of the Maldives to the sacrifices made by long-serving state officials.

President Solih made the remarks in his address at the official ceremony to confer the National Award for Public Service, on Saturday.

During the function held at the Maldives Centre for Social Education (MCSE), the President praised their dedication and hard work, stating that their efforts have played a significant role in the progress and development of the country.

At the ceremony, President Solih underscored the importance of honoring and recognizing the contributions of long-serving employees to the State, the nation, and its people. He noted their dedication and integrity in carrying out their duties over an extended period.

President Solih also highlighted the significant role that long-serving officials have played in fostering national development. He encouraged younger government employees to draw inspiration from their dedication and commitment. The President urged the youth to view serving their country as a source of personal achievement and to find joy and fulfilment in their work.

In his address, President Solih encouraged the youth to serve their nation. He highlighted the national duties and responsibilities of the many young people in government positions.

The President also acknowledged the efforts of young individuals in managing the situation and working towards fulfilling significant obligations for the country's growth. He urged all members of the government, particularly the nation's youth, to remain dedicated and committed to carrying out their civic responsibilities.

The ceremony was attended by First Lady Fazna Ahmed, Vice President Faisal Naseem, his spouse Aishath Shamsada, cabinet ministers, state dignitaries, and high-ranking officials from government offices and institutions.

The administration first introduced the National Award for Public Service in 2021. Since its inception, a total of 309 individuals have received the honor.

During Saturday's ceremony, an additional 148 individuals were awarded, bringing the total number of recipients to 457.
