A man wanted to be presented before court, is being located.
The Maldives Police Service (MPS) revealed this on Tuesday, stating that they are seeking the man who is required to be presented before the Criminal Court in connection with a case submitted at the court.
The court has ordered the police institution to locate the man, take him into police custody and present him to court.
The court order to locate the man was issued after efforts to present him before court, were to no avail.
Being located is Mohamed Shaavee, 22 and native to Feydhoo island of southernmost Seenu atoll.
Mohamed is being sought in connection with charges raised by the state for the illegal use of cannabis.
Mohamed is to be taken into police custody and presented to the Criminal Court at 9am on July 30.
The public has been urged to contact the authority’s custodial department through 9991442 if any information on the suspect’s whereabouts is attained.
The police institution also took the opportunity to express gratitude to the public for the support and assistance extended in such cases.
