President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih is in Ukulhas island of Alif Alif atoll on an official visit.
The Maldivian leader departed on the official visit to Ukulhas on Monday, upon his return from his recent official trip to southernmost Addu City.
The purpose of his ongoing visit to Ukulhas is to join the official events in celebration of Environment Day 2023.
The president is accompanied by a high-level delegation of government officials during the ongoing visit.
President Solih will be participating in the national-level celebrations to mark World Environment Day 2023 including the "Beat Plastic Pollution" festival scheduled to be held on Monday.
He will also join the official ceremony scheduled to be held in the evening to commemorate the occasion.
As part of the visit, the president will be sitting down with the Ukulhas council and Women’s Development Committee (WDC) to engage in discussions regarding the issues and concerns of the island community.
As such, he will be attaining valuable input from the council and WDC member, regarding challenges and concerns faced by the island community.
These interactions are crucial in shaping the incumbent administration’s development agenda and ensuring that it addresses the needs and aspirations of the people.
