Maldives has called on Israel to stop its illegal actions in Gaza.
Maldives made the call at an open-ended emergency meeting of the OIC Executive Committee held at the OIC headquarters, to discuss Israel's continuous attacks on the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
The meeting was attended by the OIC Permanent Representative to the United Nations and Ambassador of Maldives to Saudi Arabia Mohammed Khaleel.
The Ambassador in his speech, strongly condemned the actions of Israel and noted that they were in violation of UN Security Council and General Assembly resolutions.
He also called on Israel to immediately stop its illegal actions in Gaza.
Ambassador Khaleel in his speech, reiterated that the government and people of Maldives will always be with the Palestinian people. He called for an end to the Israeli occupation of Palestinian lands and called for an independent Palestinian state.
The Maldivian Ambassador also urged Israel to withdraw to the former 1967 border and make East Jerusalem as the capital of the Palestinian state.
