A Maldivian man has been arrested in neighboring India for a drug smuggling attempt.
According to Indian news outlets, a Maldivian man identified as Yoosuf Fuwad was arrested by the Central Industry Security Force from Kochi Airport.
In a video footage showing his arrest, the man is seen wearing a diaper in his attempt to smuggle drugs.
Indian news outlets have reported that 33 capsules suspected to contain narcotics, were confiscated from the man.
It has also been reported that the drugs confiscated carry a value of MVR 748,000.
The Central Industry Security Force publicized the video showing the arrest and recovery of drugs on Yoosuf’s body, on social media.
Indian media outlets have also reported that the man is currently in the custody of NCB in connection with the drug smuggling case.
