Maldives Police Service (MPS) has destroyed a large amount of confiscated alcohol from the police station in Villingili island of Gaafu Alif Atoll.
According to the MPS, the alcohol bottles were destroyed inside the station’s courtyard on Monday.
As such, the Police had destroyed 164 bottles of alcohol of different brands and 56 cans of beer.
RaajjeMV understands that these items have been in police possession since February.
MPS disclosed that these alcohol were seized from tourists departing from Kuddu Airport from February 23 to April 1, 2023.
The items were destroyed under the supervision of the relevant police committee assembled to take over such cases.
