Addressing social issues and ensure development require the adoption of creative ways through research and innovation, says Vice President Faisal Naseem.

He said this while speaking at the closing ceremony of the Police Research and Innovation 2023, held on Tuesday evening.

Stressing that the most important virtue of the people is the opportunity to live in a “peaceful” and “safe” society, the vice president highlighted the diligent work of law enforcement officers, day and night to ensure this.

VP Naseem also shed light on the significance of research and innovation as well as utilizing modern technological advancements to enhance the services of law enforcement officers.

Touching upon the importance of his role, VP Naseem spoke regarding the significance of proactively approaching the issues and problems surfacing for the society.

The Police Research and Innovation 2023 was organized by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Maldives Police Service (MPS) and the Police Board.

The three-day conference, held in Dharubaaruge from March 18 – 20, sought to enhance the connections and solidify a strong network between stakeholders to contribute knowledge, research findings and experiences related to policing to enhance community-based policing.

One of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih’s pledges include reforming and modernizing the Maldives Police Service (MPS).
